Made a little bit more progress on Peace.  I still have a long way to go. Time to move on to something else.

While taking this photo, I went ahead and took one of Rachel Jarratt.  Not much of a start.

Well,  I was bad and started Rachel Jarrat from Scarlet Letter a couple of weeks ago.  I had kitted this one a few months ago but never got around starting.  Suddenly I felt the urge to start something.  It all started with some one asking how many WIP's I have going.  It did  upset me a little bit, but then I thought to myself :  This is my life and my stitching.  I will stitch what I want, when I want.  If I have hundred WIP's. it is my choice.

Any way, this comment made me start Rachel.  No picture yet.

For the past few weeks I have not been feeling so great.  I have not been stitching that much.  I had no desire to pick up one of WIP's.  In the end, I started two ones.

The first one is C_A_Bunch from Sampers-Berlin

I am stitching this on 36 ct  linen from Sassy's fabby with HDF.

The second one is IGR 1749 from The Scarlet Letter.  I am using the same fabric for this too but am using AVAS.

Will I finish either one?  Only time will tell.

Well... I have a finish. finished Fluer De Lys by Alessandra Adelaide Needleworks. My choice of color..... Red of course- Dark Sampler Red from HDF on 48 ct gander.

Well.... I stuck with Sidonie and finished her today.

1 x 2 on 56 ct gander linen with HDF Redwork Red.

Time to  read the book I borrowed from the library.

Since I was feeling down and couldn't settle on anything to stitch, I started looking through my fabric stash for a  48 ct linen, I  saw a piece of linen and pulled it out.  I opened it and realized that it was after all, yet another WIP I had  syarted years ago had no recollection of starting it. And, it was 56 c , not 48 ct.  I decided to work on that WIP.   Here it is.

Peace by A Stitcher's Hands

I realized only today that I have not posted an update on Peace before  I put it away a few weeks ago.  At the rate I am going, it is highly unlikely I will finish this at all.   Well... I may finish this IF I don't start anything new and pull this out at least once a month :)

Ever since I got my order from Thread Pickerz, I have been dying to start Twisted Band Sampler from Northern Expressions.  I wanted to stitch this on 40 ct  but had a hard time find  40 ct black linen.  fter several days of futile search, I settled on 32 ct lugana.  I  tried with one thread and l liked the coverage and so I decided to continue.  I am stitching the specialty stitches version and am loving how this is turning out.  Nicole's instructions are awesome.  She has included several pages of diagrams for the specialty stitches.

After several days of not stitching, yesterday, I unearthed a WIP of several years.

I started PEACE by A Stitcher's Hands years ago when the chart was released,but, as I got new stash, I relegated this to the WIP pile.  Every once in a while, I will pull it out, only to put it away again.  For a change, yesterday, I decided to load it on my millennium frame and stitch on this.  This is a really big one, 578 x 941.  I have a LONG way to go.

After seeing Nicola's post, I ordered the spool caddy from Richard.   Richard was very helpful and  I got my caddy in record time.  It is exactly as I imagined.  

I sent pictures of two samplers I stitches to Claudia Bagiua Ciceri and she made this scissors fob for me. On one side, it has Do Bears - photo attached - and on the other side, it has the picture of Papa.  I could not get a good photo of the other side :(

I started this, may be three years ago..  another one of my neglected WIP.  When I was digging through my stash, I purposely left this out.  And, I gave in to my guilt and picked it up last week after I finished Do Bears.  This still not done, I need to fill i the bare spaces but for now I am taking a break from this.

One more WIP bites the dust.  I put in the last stitch on Do Bears from Long Dog earlier today.  It ONLY took me seven years from start to finish!!  After finishing this, I went and looked at my purchase history and noticed that I bought the thread back in 2007.  That is when I would have started this.  But set it aside afer a few motifs and moved on to others.  I would pull it out once in a while but did't feel the urge to add more stitches to it.  Earlier this year, I pulled it out  again but this time I wanted to stitch it and finished the bottom half.  Instead of stashing it away,I left it out in plain sight. I picked up another sampler and finished that.  When it was time to move on, I wanted to start yet another one but picked  up DB and kept stitching and was happy to put the last stitch today.

I have a finish.....

If I stitch one more row, I will be repeating most of the motifs and so I decided not to add another row.  I may add a border around the sampler later but for now I am done with this.  Considering that I started this years ago,  it is a miracle I went back to it and finished it.

Since Sabine Taterra is working on Papa's companion piece I wanted to work on my Papa.  it has been languishing in the WIP pile for a few years.  And yes, I have quite a few WIP's.

I changed the lay out from vertical to horizontal.  The original was stitched in blue  4 blocks across and 10 blocks down.   A friend of mine had stitched this in the horizontal layout.  I liked it a lot and so I decided to do mine the same way.  Since I was not too keen on blue, I chose to do mine in red. Shocking, isn't it ?

1x1 o 28 ct evenweave with variegated red 1145/49/53 from HDF. I decided to work the frame for each block with HDF Garnet.

This is not the true color of the fabric.  I am not able to capture the color on my photo.  Have I mentioned that I am a lousy photographer  :)

Since I hunted down the floss, I decided to finish the bottom half of Do Bears by Long Dog.  Time to move on to something else.

One of my current WIP's is Do Bears from Long Dog Samplers.  I started this a few years ago and pulled it out the other day to work on it.  To my horror, I realized that I had NOT put the threads along with the chart.  To make  matters worse,  I had not even noted what thread I was using. The only detail I remembered was the brand but not the color name.  After a frantic search and some anxious moments.. I was able to narrow down what thread I was using.  The thread is now noted on my working copy.

This is where I had left off when I put it away.  I have made some progress, but, haven't taken a picture yet.

I finished MV 1692 last night.  I started this on 1/28/14 and finished on 2/27/14.

I am currently working on MV 1692. This will be released soon by Sampler Berlin.  I decided to stitch this on black.
1 x 2 on 36 ct with HDF fibers Steelies 3451 and Quern Stones 5165.

I completed the alphabets last week end and have progressed to more interesting motifs but don't have an updated picture yet

I have a finish  my first one for 2014  I never thought I would ever finish Mery Cox  I was totally discouraged this past week and did not even look at Mery for  quite a few days  But then, I knew I only had one band left to finish and I knew I would not be able to concentrate on anything  until I finish Miss  ox So I picked her up again n Saturday and finished Sunday night.  For good or bad, Mery is now finished  Sure, I could have done a better job...
